Plugin Installation & Usage FAQ

Can I generate samples 100% offline without an internet connection or API key?

Yes! On macOS with Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4), the installer automatically sets up the offline diffusion engine. In the plugin header, simply switch the toggle from Cloud to Local to create audio offline with zero latency, zero cloud queues, and complete privacy.

How do I start generating audio after downloading?

You have two ways to create: 1) Cloud Mode: Create a free account to claim starter credits, copy your API key, and paste it into the plugin. 2) Local Mode: On Apple Silicon Macs, switch the toggle to "Local" in the plugin header to generate offline directly on your device with no API key or internet required.

Where does the installer place the plugin files?

On macOS, the installer puts the AU component in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ and the VST3 in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/. On Windows, the installer puts the VST3 bundle in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\TextToSamplePlugin.vst3\, which is the official Steinberg path automatically scanned by all modern DAWs.

Are generated samples 100% royalty-free for commercial use?

Yes! Every audio sample generated with Text-to-Sample is 100% royalty-free. You can use your generations in commercial music releases, beat packs, film scoring, sync licensing, and games without owing royalties or attribution.

Does the plugin support drag-and-drop into my DAW timeline?

Yes. Once a sample is generated, you can click and drag it directly from the plugin window into an audio track or sampler in your DAW (Ableton, FL Studio, Logic, etc.). The plugin also includes instant playback audition and a 3D frequency blob visualizer.

What if macOS Gatekeeper or Windows SmartScreen shows a warning?

On macOS, the package is cryptographically signed and notarized with our Apple Developer ID. If your security settings show a prompt on first run, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway". On Windows, click "More info" → "Run anyway" if Windows Defender SmartScreen displays an unprompted caution.
